| Purpose | | | SCUSA provides community transportation services responsive to the current and changing needs of Stanly County residents. Transportation includes trips to and from agencies, employment sites, businesses, medical centers (in and out of county), community college, Senior Center, nutrition sites, YMCA for the after school program, dialysis, nursing homes, daycare's, etc. Services are provided utilizing vans and buses through subscription and demand response routes. Vehicles are available to better serve the disabled population. |

SCUSA proporciona a la comunidad los servicios de transporte respondiendo corrientemente a las necesidades cambiantes de residentes del Condado de Stanly. It is the policy of Stanly County to maintain a systematic, consistent recruitment program, to promote equal employment opportunities, and to identify and attract the most qualified applicants for employment opportunities with the County. This policy is to be achieved by announcing position vacancies, by evaluating all applicants using the same criteria, and by applying testing methods through the Local Job Service Office (Employment Security Commission). Selection decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability, age or any other non-merit factors of employees. This program covers: (1) routine administration; (2) recruitment; (3) selection, appointment, placement, promotion, and upward mobility; (4) training, and (5) personnel actions.
A. Stanly County government will continue to comply with the Equal Opportunity
requirements of Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended.
B. Stanly County government will continue to comply with Section 51.55 of the
Revenue Sharing Regulations prohibiting discrimination against qualified
individuals because of their handicapped status.
C. Responsibility for the affirmative action programs and compliance is assigned to
the Human Resource Office. However, responsibility for equal employment
opportunities will be shared by all department heads and supervisors.
D. Recruiting for general county positions is done through the local Employment
Security Commission (ESC) and optional communication methods.
Any person who believes they have been mistreated by an unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI has a right to file a formal complaint* with Stanly County.
*Any such complaint must be in writing or in person to the Stanly County Title VI Compliance Officer located at 1000 N. 1st Street, Suite 10 A, Albemarle, NC 28001 within one hundred eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged discrimination occurrence.

You must call the Transportation Office at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a ride Services are available on first come/first serve basis. Planning ahead and calling to reserve trips is highly recommended.
Stanly County Transportation does NOT provide emergency medical transportation. For emergency situations, PLEASE CALL 911.
