The Stanly County Historic Preservation Commission was established by the Stanly County Commissioners in 1973 to research, record, conserve, and interpret the history, culture, and architectural heritage of Stanly County, North Carolina. The Commission operates a museum and maintains two of the three locally designated historic properties in Stanly County. The Commission also maintains a list of sites that are architecturally, culturally, historic, or otherwise significant to the fabric of Stanly County's heritage. www.stanlycountyhpc.com
