Stanly County 9-1-1 Communications Center went live in March 1994. The center is a consolidated communications center handling calls for service from every Public Safety Agency in Stanly County. The center handles approximately 107,000 calls for service each year. This includes both Emergency and Non-Emergency calls for County Law Enforcement, EMS, Fire and Rescue.

   It is the goal of Stanly County 9-1-1 to provide the highest standard of professional and compassionate service to the public and agencies that we serve, and to provide these services in a way that reflects well toward our community and ourselves.

   Stanly County 9-1-1 has a state of the art facility that includes, OSSI Computer Aided Dispatch Software, Mapping, CML Telephone System capable of handling TTY/TDD calls for the hearing impaired, plus Wireless Phase II capable to accept calls from cell phones with Phase II features to help pinpoint the caller’s location in conjunction with the CAD Mapping. The center also utilizes Priority Dispatch Emergency Medical Dispatch to process calls for medical emergencies and provide pre-arrival instructions to begin the EMS ALS process earlier. The CAD consoles are interfaced with the NC SBI for DCI connectivity to obtain driver’s license and registration information and to query for wanted persons. The five positions operate on Motorola CentraCom Gold radios allowing us to communicate with the responding field personnel. The center is staffed with three Telecommunicators on duty working 12 hours shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
